Work of Art

Good Saturday Crafters!

So for today's post we are working with the Work of Art clear mount set.

This stamp set was in last year's annual catalogue and luckily it is in this year's catalogue as well. If you look on pinterest there are so many different images you could make with this stamp set which makes it so versatile and worth investing in.

For the above card I used the paint swipes for the main body of the card and I used the long brushstrokes for the borders of the card. This is just a simple card but it looks effective especially with the coordinating embellishments. This would be perfect with the new in colours which is what I did with the below card samples.

These cards were done with the same stamp set but I just used the heart stamp to make a pretty background and then the paint swipe to put my sentiment on.
The other card is made again with the heart stamp but this time to make petals, the circle stamp was used to make the body of the flower and the stems are made with the long brushstroke stamp. It is again very simple but yet effective and it is just something different.

Anyways that is that from me for now, until next time...

Magic Card!

Hello my fellow crafters and avid readers!

How are we today? Looking forward to reading todays blog?! Well here we go...

Today it is all about Magic Cards!

SO I have done a video of what it looks like, but please do not laugh as it my very first video and only done on my phone but it was only to show how it looks rather than to be aesthetically pleasing.

Ahhh I hate the sound of my voice on video, I feel sorry for my husband for having to put up with it all the time!

Anyways the tutorial of how to make it I got from this lovely lady Constanze Sturm magic card tutorial

For my card I used the hostess stamp set Love You Lots Clear-Mount set. I love this set, the animals are so cute and they are perfect for practising your colouring in!
I also used the Falling Flowers Clear-Mount Stamp Set to decorate the front of my card, otherwise it would have been too plain. I also did not want to use a Designer Series Paper as sometimes I just like to stamp instead of just cutting and sticking, but due to all the stamping, cutting and sticking done to make this card in the first place you could just use DSP to finish it that little bit quicker as the main focus of the card is the image in the magic window!

So here is the card in action shots.

So I hope you like this weeks post, I will be back again next Saturday so hopefully you will be back again with me then too.

Shaker cards

Hello everyone!!

SO today this post will be about Shaker Cards!!!

So I have CASED the idea from the Stampin' Up Catalogue, but I liked the look of these so much that I did not want to change it.

So for these I used the Confetti Celebration Clear-Mount Stamp Set.

The basic things you need for this card is card stock (obviously), window sheets and foam adhesive strips.
  1. So you get a piece of card that is the same size as the front of your card base, you cut a square/circle/whatever shape hole using dies or scissors into that piece of card.
  2. Decorate your piece of card with the stamps. I used the hanging lanterns or the stars on my cards.
  3. Then cut a piece of window sheet into the same size or a tad bit smaller than your piece of card. Stick this onto the underside of your card piece, I use double sided tape as it seems to stick well with this and there is no glue seeping out of the edges that could stick to your embellishments that would go inside your card.
  4. Put some foam tape on the underside of your card piece. Place it just around the outside of the hole and make sure there are no gaps otherwise your embelishments will escape out of the card.
  5. Decorate the front of your card base as this will be seen through the window sheet. I used the balloons for two of the cards and the small happy birthday for the other cards.
  6. Make some confetti to go in your card, by using the confetti/sprinkles punch or stars/heart punch or you could use embellishments like sequins. Or if you have a hole punch then the waste from this and put it in.
  7. Place the confetti/embellishments on your card base in the middle of roughly where the window of your card front would be (as you do not want it sticking to the foam pads)
  8. Then peel off the paper covering the foam strips and stick your piece of card (with the window in) onto your card base front.
  9. This is your shaker card hard bit done, all you need to do now is decorate it with some sentiments and of course, rhinestones!

So there are my shaker cards, I hope my instructions were clear, otherwise like I say just let send me an email or comment and I can try and help further if you have questions.

Thoughtful Branches bundle now available!

The Thoughtful Branches bundle is now available for you to purchase, however it is only available for one month only and that is now in August, so hurry up and get it while stocks last!

So these are the lovely stamps and coordinating dies that go together, I have made a few samples with these to show how versatile this set is but you can find many more on Pinterest!

The next image of cards could be used for Christmas cards. I made the backgrounds by first masking off the bottom half of the card into a hill shape, then I used blending sponges and blended the ink onto the cardstock.

So I used Daffodil Delight first of all and blended the ink from the inkpad onto the middle of the card into a circle kind of shape, I then used Melon Mambo, but rubbed off some of the ink before I applied it to the card and rubbed it around the edges of the yellow. Then I applied Night of Navy using the sponges and worked it in from around the edges of the card.

I then removed the mask and added some bits of Night of Navy to the snow area for shadow. The tree silhouette was cut from Basic Grey cardstock using the Thoughtful Branches die and the background trees were stamped with the stamp set that coordinates with the dies.

For a final touch I used clear Wink of Stella on the die cut.

For this card I used the Softly Falling embossing folder for the background. I die cut the tree twice, once in Whisper White cardstock and once in Basic Black cardstock and stuck them on the card with the White tree almost completely overlapping the black tree, like a shadow.

I then placed some red ribbon around the bottom of the card and the sentiment was stamped using the Oh, What Fun stamp set and cut out using the Duet Banner punch. I then overlayed this over a previously cut out Smoky Slate banner.

So these are just a few things that can be made with this gorgeous bundle and like I said there are many more to be found, but if you do want to purchase this bundle or the dies/stamps separately then click on the images below and it will take you directly to my online shop. The below table also shows the products that I used to make the cards incase you would like to recreate them for yourselves.

Thank you for reading and please come back again on Saturday!

Handbags and gladrags...

http://shari-anne-happycrafter.blogspot.com/2016/08/jems-august-blog-hop-when-is-bag-not-bag.html

Good morning everyone, today's post will be about handbags!

You may have just joined me from Julie's blog but if you have just started here then you can catch up with all the other posts by clicking the links at the bottom of this page, or start at the beginning at Sharon's blog by clicking on the above image.

There has been some gorgeous projects so far so I hope you are enjoying reading about them all, and maybe recreate some yourself!

So the theme for this blog hop is packaging, and if you have not already guessed, mine is about paper handbags.

The bags were made with the Gift Box Punch Board and using some of the 12"x12" cardstock in co-ordinating colours to the Affectionately Yours DSP, which were Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder.

I then used the Affectionately Yours DSP to decorate the front and back panel and some of the Affectionately Yours Washi Tape to decorate around the top rim.
The handle is made with the same colour cardstock and each handle is 0.5" wide by 12" long.

(my first video, aah, so it is not very good but I practice makes perfect! and my voice sounds so squeaky!!!!)

So click on the right link below to go onto the next blog or alternatively if you missed a blog then you can click on the left link to go back and catch up!

See you soon and thankyou for reading!
